Dr. W. Ashley Hood
Dr. Hood is currently in a solo OB/GYN practice in Jackson, Mississippi. He currently holds two board certifications from the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Amercian Board of Osteopathic Obstetrics and Gynecology. He received his doctor of
osteopathic medicine degree from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences – College
of Osteopathic Medicine. He then completed his internship and residency in OB/GYN at the University
of Mississippi Medical Center.
Dr. Hood has been extremely involved in the osteopathic profession. As a student and a resident, he
served on the American Osteopathic Association’s Board of Trustees. He currently serves on the AOA’s
Council on CME, Women’s Health Issues, and New Physician’s in Practice.
He is currently serving on the Mississippi Osteopathic Medical Association’s Board of Directors, and is
currently the President-Elect.
He recently began a new position as Chair of OB/GYN, at William Carey University – College of
Osteopathic Medicine in Hattiesburg, MS.
He also serves on many hospital committees at River Oaks Hospital in Jackson, MS.
He has spoken for various organizations on issues of women’s health.
